Wilma and the EITC Program

The Wilma Theater participates in the Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program.  When your corporation gives to our Wilmagination, Wilma Classroom, or Camp Wilma educational programming, it also receives a dollar-for-dollar tax credit through the Pennsylvania Education Improvement Program—benefitting both your corporation and Philadelphia’s students.

Entities eligible to apply for EITC are operating businesses authorized to do business in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania that are subject to the following taxes: Corporate Net Income Tax, Capital Stock Franchise Tax, Bank and Trust Company Shares Tax, Title Insurance Companies Shares Tax, Insurance Premiums Tax, or Mutual Thrift Institutions Tax.

Businesses that are eligible to take advantage of this program may apply to receive tax credits equal to 75% of their contribution, up to a maximum of $750,000 per taxable year. These businesses may also apply to receive tax credits equal to 90% of their contribution, if they agree to provide the same amount for two consecutive tax years.

Applying for this tax credit is easy! The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania simply asks that you submit a short application on a rolling basis through July 1st. The application, along with program guidelines can be found at http://dced.pa.gov/programs/educational-improvement-tax-credit-program-eitc.
