Lorca on Film at The Prince Theater


Presented by the Philadelphia Film Society in collaboration with the Wilma, this film series explores the work and history of celebrated poet and dramatist Federico García Lorca. The films include a flamenco adaptation of Blood Wedding, a searing exploration of Lorca’s death during the Spanish Civil War, and an intimate look at the playwright’s early years and relationship with Salvador Dalí and Luis Buñuel.

Blood Wedding, directed by Carlos Saura

Antonio Gadas and his dance company perform a flamenco adaptation of Lorca’s Blood Wedding. After the screening join the Wilma's Blood Wedding director Csaba Horváth, Wilma Artistic Director Blanka Zizka, and Dramaturg Walter Bilderback as they discuss the play. Click to learn more.
