Emily Schuman(she/her) is an actor/musician and props designer based in Philadelphia. She holds a BA in Theatre from Denison University. Recent credits include The Complete Works of Shakespeare Abridged, Gretna Theatre; Once the Musical, New Light Theatre Company, Julius Caesar (Cassius) and Cymbeline, Delaware Shakespeare.
From 2019-2024, Emily collaborated with Delaware Shakespeare to compose and perform live musical scores for community tour productions of Merchant of Venice (with composer Liz Filios), Romeo and Juliet and The Winter’s Tale. In 2024 she released her solo EP project Full Fathom Five featuring songs inspired by Shakespeare sonnets and characters. For the past two winters Emily also performed out west with her husband in the Magical Medora Christmas Tour.
When not on stage/performing, she is the resident props artisan at Philadelphia Theatre Company. Other prop design credits include Pig Iron Theatre, 1812 Productions, Theatre Exile, Applied Mechanics, InterAct Theatre, Nichole Canuso Dance Company, and Theatre Horizon.
