
The Wilma Theater announces Open Call Auditions for our 2026-27 Season on Tuesday, September 29th, from 10am – 4pm. We are primarily casting possible understudies for our Spring Season.
To schedule an appointment, please contact casting@wilmatheater.org. The deadline to schedule an audition is Friday, September 18, 2026. Auditions will be scheduled on a first come first served basis.
Walk Ins are welcome to attend and will be seen on a first come first serve basis, appointments permitting.
Please prepare either ONE monologue not exceeding 3 min OR TWO contrasting monologues not exceeding 3 min. in total.

Time: Auditions will break for lunch between 1 pm-2pm.

The Wilma Theater seeks someone with an interest in learning about a Regional Theater Artistic department, with some administrative experience, to serve as Artistic Intern.
The Wilma Theater creates living, adventurous art, presenting bold, original, well-crafted, thought-provoking productions that represent a range of voices, viewpoints, and styles. The Artistic Intern will contribute meaningfully to the organizational culture of the Wilma and will advocate to advance our values on an organizational, local, and national scale. This person will take part in cross-departmental work and company-wide EDI work as we further our commitment to being an inclusive, anti-racist organization.
Position Summary
The Artistic Intern reports to the Associate Producer and supports the work of the Artistic Department, which also includes the Artistic Director and the Associate Artistic Director.
Artistic Interns will assist the Artistic department in reading and reporting on scripts, helping to maintain our literary database, doing dramaturgical research related to the plays of our season, assisting with auditions, assisting with special events, taking lien notes on productions, supporting HotHouse company sessions, and performing clerical duties such as copying, scanning, and various other administrative tasks. Interns are also able to observe HotHouse Company sessions and rehearsals. Many former interns have gone on to graduate school and work at institutions such as Actors Theatre of Louisville, Playwrights Horizons and The O’Neill.
Position Qualifications
Candidates must have academic and practical experience in theater, and display strong written, verbal, and analytical skills. The ideal candidate is proficient in remote-work software and systems, with the ability to learn our Microsoft 365, and project management and video conference tools.
Compensation and Benefits
This is a part-time (10 hours a week), temporary, non-exempt role with compensation of $15/hour.

Overview
This newly-created position is focused on supporting the Wilma Theater’s goals to increase funding from major individual donors. Key activities include research, planning, data entry, scheduling, event planning and execution. The successful candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive and able to communicate warmly and efficiently both in person and in writing. Comfortable with phone and email and with work days that are characterized by many different activities performed at a fast yet accurate pace is essential. We are looking for a generalist who has worked with Microsoft Office software in office settings and is potentially interested in a career in development.

Working Hours
Administrative office hours are Monday through Friday, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, unless otherwise established by your supervisor or the Managing Director to meet the theater’s needs.
From time to time, you may be required to work outside of normal business hours.
Compensation and Benefits
This is a full-time, exempt role with compensation of $50,000.
