The Wilma Theater is excited to announce our next semester of Wilma Workshop! This semester we are offerings courses that cover multiple disciplines in the theater, from directing, to producing and more!
Join us for the first three on offer and stay tuned for another Hot House Acting Intensive and much more—new classes will be added throughout this upcoming season.

Workshop Dates/Times:
January 18-19, 2-6 p.m.
January 20-22, 10 a.m.- 6 p.m.In this workshop, we will study Sasha Denisova’s writing method and techniques. Participants will be offered an opportunity to practice combining their personal experiences with larger socio-political events in their writing. We will also explore directing approaches responding to the scenic challenges of such writing, with invaluable support from members of the HotHouse company, serving as actors in the staging of the material you write in the workshop.

How to Work in Theater 101 is a class for theater makers of all backgrounds who are hoping to begin their professional careers but are unsure where and how to start. Taught by the Wilma Theater’s Managing Director Leigh Goldenberg, students will learn how artists of various kinds work both with theaters and through self-promotion to build careers that support themselves and their artistic goals.

Taught by Justin Jain, HotHouse Acting Company member and director of the Wilma’s upcoming production of The Good Person of Setzuan, this class will be a one-day exploration of the techniques utilized by the HotHouse Acting Company to explore body, voice, and text.
