Mel Krodman (they/them/zey) is a 43-year young, white, trans non-binary, queer, Ashkenazi Jewish creator, collaborator, performer, writer, community member, partner and parent.
As a performance maker Mel has a decade-long career collaboratively devising experimental and physically-driven interdisciplinary works that collide dance, theatre, video, performance art, music and comedy.
Favorite works and collaborations include: Pete Pannn: Boyz Will Be Boyz 4 Lyfe (Ars Nova’s ANT Fest), Colony and JEAN&TERRY: Your Guides Through Dark, Light & Nebulous (with Kelly Bond), The Top (with No Face Performance Group), The Sincerity Project iterations 1, 2, 3, 4 (a 24-year long documentary play with Team Sunshine Performance Corporation), A Potential Performance (with Nina Lampic and Urska Brodar), Singlet (with Erin Markey, subbing in for Emily Davis), Superterranean (Pig Iron with Mimi Lien), Swamp Is On (Pig Iron with Dr Dog) and A Hard Time (Pig Iron with Jenn Kidwell and Jess Conda). Mel is also part of Philadelphia Contemporary’s 100 People Listening: A Shared Decade – a 10 year project connecting 50 pairs of Philadelphians through deep listening and vulnerable exchange.
Mel makes work and lives with their family on occupied Lenni-Lenape lands colonially known as West Philadelphia.
