Jackie Soro

Jackie (she/they) is a Philadelphia-based artist, singer, and collaborative theater-maker. Her solo & collaborative works are playfully irreverent, often improvisatory and fiercely queer; they create spaces to contend with questions about place, personhood, and identity. For the past 8 years, Philadelphia’s vibrant devised theater community has been their artistic home. Recent credits as a creator-performer include: co-directing & performing in the Bearded Ladies Cabaret’s Late Night Snacks queer cabaret festival; Emily Bate’s Wig Wag; Inis Nua’s Meet Me At Dawn; and Team Sunshine Performance’s touring production of Your Optimism is Not Required. Their work as a creator-performer has appeared on many stages, including Ars Nova, LaMama ETC, FringeArts, Christ Church Neighborhood House, the Village of Arts & Humanities, Trade School Festival, 1812 Productions, and DIY venues across Philadelphia.
