We’re so excited to announce that the 2026 Fete: Spring Soiree under the Marquee will return to the Wilma Theater on Sunday, April 12. This is the Wilma’s biggest night, and our most important fundraiser of the year – and we’re so excited to come home to Broad Street to celebrate our building’s 30th birthday. This special evening will also honor Howard and Vesna Sacks for their generous support of the Wilma’s HotHouse Acting Company, our theater’s artistic soul. The evening will feature performances, drinks, dancing and fun – all in support of the Wilma’s bold, adventurous art and the artists who make it all possible.
The evening will start at 5 PM with a special VIP reception across the street at the Kimmel Center, overlooking our Broad Street Home, with light fare and cocktails. Then, we’ll move to the Wilma Theater at the Aurora for a unique experience of our space featuring performances by members of the Wilma’s HotHouse Acting Company, as well as drinks, dancing, and silent auction.
We are so privileged to be honoring Howard and Vesna Sacks for their generous support underwriting our HotHouse Acting Company. In the 10 years since its official founding in a performance of ANTIGONE in our 2015-16 season, the HotHouse Acting Company has become the artistic lodestone of the Wilma Theater, as well as receiving national attention for its unique methodology.
Additionally, we are excited to be celebrating 30 years in our home on Broad Street. Our move into the first theater built for the newly formed Avenue of the Arts was a pivotal one for both the Wilma and Philadelphia, cementing our place in the regional theater scene and announcing that Philadelphia was place for vibrant, exciting live theater. As the blueprint of Broad Street continues to evolve with exciting improvements on the horizon, we are thrilled to take this moment to look back on its storied history.
